No Nap and New Mercies
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I just need a do over. When I was young and had a rough day with my parents my mom would turn off my light and say, “Tomorrow is a new day, today doesn’t matter.” My mother is a student of the word. She was speaking over us Lamentations 3:22-23. Now that I am a parent of an almost 2 year old who refused to nap on Monday that statement rings differently. See, as much as I wanted to be mad and no matter how exhausting Monday was, Tuesday was a new day. Not only was Tuesday a new day, but today, Wednesday, has been one of our best days! It isn’t raining so we got to go on a walk and she got to slide and jump on her bounce house! She actually ate her lunch and *gasp* asked for a nap! I’m now laying in said bounce house soaking in the sun! I am reminded that His mercies are new every morning and He is faithful!
